Egypt: imprisonment of influencers accused of incitement to debauchery
The convictions of influencers and influencers are linked in Egypt. Two singers have just received a one-year prison sentence and a fine for a video where they are seen singing in the company of a belly dancer. Women are also heavily sentenced, like Hanin Hossam and Mawada el Adham, two tiktok women arrested in 2021 and imprisoned for their content deemed contrary to “good morals”. Amnesty International has chosen to mobilize, as explained by Souleimene Benghazi, campaign manager for this NGO.
