“We must put bans”: in the event of new riots, Emmanuel Macron does not rule out “cutting” social networks

During his meeting with several hundred French mayors, Emmanuel Macron questioned the role of social networks in the current crisis. He does not rule out “cutting” them when “things get carried away”.

“We need to have a reflection on social networks, on the prohibitions that we must put. And, when things get out of control, you may have to put yourself in a position to regulate them or cut them off,” he said.

The Head of State nevertheless asked that this debate be done “coldly”.
