That internet-based television had a niche existence in Germany for a long time. Although people were already experimenting with Internet-based additional services more than 20 years ago, a comprehensive transmission of video data still seemed unthinkable at the time, especially not in Full HD or even higher resolution.

However, the performance of the network infrastructure grew steadily, and modern TV convenience with the option of being able to call up program content at any time, for example via media libraries, has long been taken for granted.

Size Video streaming portals such as Netflix, Disney+ and Co., which manage without linear programming at all, pushed this development even further, and it is now quite normal that a considerable part of the content of television is accessed via the Internet.

So it is only a small step until the complete transmission of all content including the linear TV program. While IP TV reception was often only available in connection with a broadband connection in the past, there are now also offers that are independent of the connection and can be used without great effort.

We present four providers who IPTV with their own set-top boxes deliver to the house via any internet connection. You can do that with any of them complete linear TV program received in HD quality. They not only represent an alternative to expensive cable connections or the chargeable activation of private channels via antenna or satellite, but often also offer interesting additional functions.
