The best monitors for different purposes: offers from MediaMarkt/Saturn
Smaller displays on notebooks, tablets or smartphones are completely sufficient for work or entertainment on the go. But sometimes it has to be a larger and well-equipped screen. If you sit in front of it all day, typing texts and creating Excel spreadsheets, it is more convenient if the work surface is larger. If you want to edit pictures and videos, you also need more space and a better resolution. Games only unfold their full effect on larger computer monitors.
Important when buying a monitor for the PC are, among other things, the resolution, the size, the response time and the brightness. We provide orientation and recommend five monitors for different purposes – for the office, for gaming or for graphics work.
Recommended monitors for the office

ASUS TUF Gaming VG27WQ: Great all-rounder
The ASUS TUF Gaming VG27WQ monitor is our current price/performance tip. It comes with a screen diagonal of 27 inches. This allows you to open several windows next to each other without the display getting cramped – for example e-mail programs and word processing. The WQHD resolution of 2560×1440 pixels is more than sufficient for office work.
Thanks to super-fast VA image technology, the monitor delivers a very smooth display with high frame rates and short response times. In the test, he managed a rapid 1.9 milliseconds. Also great: With Low Framerate Compensation, the ASUS display irons out low frame rates and thus prevents jerking and tearing, the dreaded tearing of the image.
The display of the ASUS TUF Gaming VG27WQ is a so-called “curved display”, ie it curves slightly towards the viewer. Many users find this particularly pleasant. The ASUS also proves itself in everyday office life with its ergonomic functions: It can be adjusted in height. In addition, it can be tilted and swiveled. Tense at the end of a long day at work? That doesn’t have to be the case with the ASUS monitor.
BENQ ZOWIE XL2411K: Fast response time and 144 Hertz
A screen for gaming needs a high refresh rate: 60 Hertz is sufficient for office work, but demanding games can jerk with it. This is not a problem with the BENQ ZOWIE XL2411K gaming monitor: it refreshes the image every 144 seconds. The response time is optimal at 1 ms, so there are no double contours or streaks. Game scenes are displayed pin-sharp. The built-in TN panel ensures that even action-packed processes appear fluid.
The screen diagonal of the BENQ monitor is 24 inches and has a resolution of 1,920 × 1,080 pixels (Full HD). The brightness can be adjusted up to 320 cd/m².
The grey-red monitor has many connections and can be connected to other devices: DPI, HDMI 2.0, USB 2.0 and two HDMI 1.4 are integrated.
Iiyama G-Master GB3461WQSU: Inexpensive large gaming monitor
The Iiyama G-Master GB3461WQSU is an extremely large 34-inch display with a high resolution of 3,440 x 1,440 pixels at a fair price. With its refresh rate of 144 Hz, short switching times and FreeSync, the display is recommended for gamers who are looking for maximum gaming fun. Fashionable features such as a case upgraded with LED lighting – typical for gamer displays – you’re looking for in vain here. We see that as an advantage, since the display doesn’t attract negative attention in the office.
From the test, we particularly remember the great image quality of the IPS panel. It covers 100% of the sRGB color space. At the same time, the IPS technology stands for stable image quality at larger viewing angles. In combination with the 21:9 ultra-wide format (UWQHD), the Iiyama is therefore also very good for video streaming in small groups.
Recommended monitor for creative work
