Faced with the current cold wave, the manager of the RTE electricity network calls on the French to moderate their electricity consumption this Monday.

“Due to the drop in temperatures, electricity consumption will be high this Monday, April 4, 2022 and could reach 73,000 MW around 9 a.m.,” RTE said in a press release. The manager therefore asks companies and communities to moderate their consumption, especially between 7am and 10am. The French are also invited to shift their electricity consumption with household appliances (washing machines and dishwashers), to this Sunday rather than Monday. It is also advisable to avoid charging mobile phones between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. and then between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
